    Yamal was left out of the Barcelona squad that went down 1-0 against Real Sociedad on Sunday in La Liga. The winger suffered a 'severe contusion' during the club's Champions clash against Crvena Zvezda in midweek. Manager Hansi Flick had expressed his concern about Yamal's condition after Sunday's clash and had hoped that he would not appear for Spain in their upcoming Nations League matches.

    On Monday, the Catalan giants provided an update on the youngster's condition as they confirmed that the player will remain sidelined for two to three weeks due to a grade 1 sprain on his right ankle. The club also revealed that star forward Lewandowski also picked up a lower back injury during the Real Sociedad clash and has joined Yamal in the club's treatment room.

    On their official X (formerly Twitter) handle, the club posted, "Tests this morning confirmed that first team player Lamine Yamal has a grade 1 high right ankle sprain. He is expected to be out for two to three weeks."

    They further confirmed Lewandowski's injury as they wrote, "Robert Lewandowski has suffered a lower back injury. He will be out of action for approximately 10 days."

    WHAT NEXT FOR BARCELONA?

    While the veteran Polish forward is expected to be back in action before the club's next La Liga encounter against Celta Vigo after the international break, Yamal is likely to remain sidelined until at least December.
